Edit text in a PDF
Fix typos, update dates, change names without rebuilding the document. Works best on plain white backgrounds; colored or scanned pages get a one-time warning that the cover may show.
- 1.Open your PDF.
- 2.Click the Edit Text tool (or press E).
- 3.Click any text on the page. A new text box appears in its place. Type to replace.
- 4.Save PDF when finished.

About this tool
Most online editors can't actually edit PDF text. They let you park a text box on top while the original words stay underneath. This one replaces the text: click a word or a line, an editable box appears in its place over a background-matched patch, and you type. Font, size, weight, and color are read from the original so the replacement blends in.
When the PDF has its font embedded, the tool uses it; when it doesn't, it substitutes the closest visual match. Bold, italic, and letter spacing come from the original text run. On colored or scanned backgrounds the patch behind your new text is opaque, and you'll see a one-time warning that it might not match perfectly. On a white page it's invisible.
The usual jobs: a typo in a contract that now only exists as a PDF, the date on a form you reuse every year, a misspelled name on a certificate. The replacement is a normal annotation, so you can restyle it afterward if the inferred look was a little off. Saving flattens everything into a file that reads the same in any viewer.
