About this tool

Merging is the reason most people go looking for a PDF tool at all. The contract plus its signed signature page. A cover letter in front of a résumé. Three scanned receipts that belong in one expense report. Add as many PDFs as you like, put them in order, and get one file back that opens the same way everywhere.

Order is drag and drop. Each file shows up as a row with its page count and size, so you can check you grabbed the right version before committing, and the merged file follows the list top to bottom. Download it when you're happy, or open it straight in the editor if some pages still need rotating, deleting, or shuffling.

The files are read into memory, stitched together with pdf-lib, and handed back, all on your own machine. No server ever has your contract. There's a real difference between a promise to 'delete your files after an hour' and never receiving them in the first place, and it's a difference you can confirm in the network panel: no request carries your file.

Frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There's no fixed cap. Since nothing uploads, the practical limit is your browser's memory. A dozen ordinary documents merge instantly, and a few hundred megabytes of total input is comfortable on most laptops.
Can I choose the order of the files?
Yes. Every PDF becomes a draggable row. Put them in whatever order you want and the merged file matches it exactly. You can also remove a file from the list if you added the wrong one.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
pdf-lib reads each file you add and stitches them together right there in the tab, so whatever you're combining never gets handed to a server in the first place. Open the network panel mid-merge if you want to watch it stay empty.
Will links and form fields survive the merge?
Page content and internal links carry into the combined file, and bookmarks from each source are kept where the format allows. Some heavily customized interactive form fields may end up flattened when files are combined, which keeps the merged result rendering consistently across readers.
Do I need an account, and is it free?
No account, and yes, free. No watermark, no daily limit. Drop the files, drag them into order, merge, download.
