About this tool
PDF to JPG covers a lot of small jobs. A page you need as a thumbnail, a preview for someone who won't open a PDF, pages headed for a slide deck. Each page gets rendered at a high-DPI scale, so the images read well on screen and print acceptably at full size.
A one-page PDF downloads as a plain .jpg. A multi-page PDF comes down as a zip with one numbered image per page, so putting them back in order later is no work at all. JPG keeps document pages small, which is why it's the default for sharing and previews. If you need lossless quality, the PDF to PNG tool is the better pick.
The PDF loads into pdf.js, each page renders to a canvas, and your browser's own encoder writes the JPG. The conversion is never uploaded, queued on a server, or logged anywhere. Long documents take a few seconds per ten pages or so, since pages are processed one at a time to keep memory in check.
